Air Defense Concept[]
Union Airsphere Extensions, IAS being Independent Airspheres
Federations in SC all revolve around the concept of "Shared Defense" which refers to Shared Air Defense through
the use of Interceptor Units and Defensive Helicopter Units. These two units are some of the most important units in the game allowing the defense of a nation to automatically respond to any attack ground or air (Helos attack ground units and interceptors attack air units) inflicting massive amounts of damage to invading forces (It is important to note as an attacker the first priority should be to take out the airdefense of a nation before launching attacks on other targets). According to the game documentation the response to an air attack includes an interceptor wing of the defending nation aswell as up to two interceptor wings of a Fedmate (assuming that the said air wing is within range which is 4000 for interceptors and 7000 for helos) in order to ensure every country in The Union Federation has access to two other interceptors or helo wings from another Fedmate The Union has setup a series of Airbases located within range of the majority of members in The Union in which the members can deposit a set number of Air Wings into that will allow the coverage of the entire Union. The Countries that have been designated airbases will be required to setup an International Offensive AirPort labelled as such where The Union air wings can be deployed and counted by the host country. The Host country will also be requred to post the deployment status of their International AirPort on this wiki page. This system will also serve as an indication of individual countries military capabilities, dedication to the federation, and activity.
